About the Site
Kit's Anime MIDIs is a fan based website that helps to collect, distribute and make anime and game MIDIs from the Internet available to everyone. We try to make the site accessible to everyone to all fans out there worldwide.
The project started out as a way to test PostNuke (now known as Zikula at the time of this writing) and the features provided by Postnuke. It later evolved as an addiction for me to collect and gather as much MIDIs particularly anime based.
About the Webmaster
Nothing much about me. Pretty much interested in computer science related stuff.
History of the Site
November 2002
The site was launched using Postnuke. It helped me saved a lot of hard work and I can keep track of what's happening at the site. It was first hosted on Polarhome.
February 2003
After a few months at Polarhome, I still decided to use Postnuke but I shifted to CoolFreePages.com but unfortunately the server didn't allow users to download MIDI files from the server.
March 2003
I decided to move it to Spaceports and I started building the site from scratch using HTML along together with some CGI scripts such as NewsPro and Castle Links.
January 2004
Once Spaceports decided to quit its free website hosting business, I was forced to move my content over to T35.com. T35 has always been my favourite host because of the generous space the company has to offer to all of it's clients here. Unfortunately, I had a setback, my host didn't support Perl, the crucial programming language component to run the download manager. I initially took my time to look for a host and ended up in Netfirms.
January 2006
I didn't know that Kit's Anime MIDIs' number of visitors have increased over the years and it caused the download server at Netfirms to overload. I was out of options again until I decided to look for a long-term solution. I temporarily hosted it at Prohosting.
March 2006
I began my work by trasfering over 1000+ MIDI links, title and descriptions over to my new download manager, WebSight. The work was seriously tedious and I never thought I will get it done in time.
July 2006
I began to rework on the main site with a new focus to make it less cluttered and easy to read. I also took note about complying to W3C Standards but some of the pages in this site have been messed up by advertisments provided by T35 and my new download host, FreeWebSpace.net.
March 2009
Fixed most of the usability problems and enhancing the font size.
More of these can be found at the development blog.

Note: Some of the images were retrieved from The Internet Archive: Wayback Machine as I did not take a screenshot of the page at that time.
